Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has stirred up excitement in the Dogecoin community again. During the reveal of Tesla’s new autonomous vehicle, the “Cybercab,” a Shiba Inu, the breed linked to Dogecoin, made an appearance, driving DOGE fans wild.
The event took place on a Hollywood film set. Musk arrived in the cybercab and talked about its potential, saying that most cars “just do nothing.” But with autonomy, they could be much more useful.
The Cybercab is a two-seater with scissor doors, no steering wheel, and no pedals, showcasing its full autonomy. Inside, it’s similar to Tesla’s Model 3 and Y, with a big central touchscreen and wireless charging.
Dogecoin Integration Speculation
Speculation is building around DOGE integration. The official Dogecoin account called the Cybercab a “Shiba Inu taxi” on X (formerly Twitter), sparking chatter about Tesla possibly accepting DOGE for payments.
One DOGE fan, DogeDesigner, even wondered if Musk hinted at buying a Cybercab with Dogecoin when the Shiba Inu appeared. Another user, Sir Doge of the Coin, noted the significance of the moment, while others echoed similar thoughts.
Still, some remain cautious. A user named Astro pointed out the lack of details from Tesla or X about how payments would work or any collaboration with Dogecoin. There’s also no info yet on the Starlink-DOGE link.
Musk mentioned that the production of the Cybercab would start in 2026, with a price tag under $30,000. He aims to run a fleet of these self-driving cabs through an app, lowering transport costs to about $0.20 per mile, compared to the average $1 per mile for city buses.
Along with the Cybercab, Musk also revealed the “Robovan,” an autonomous minibus for up to 20 passengers, and updates on Tesla’s humanoid robot project, Optimus.
