# The Best Platform for Day Trading Crypto in 2026

Updated: 24 September 2026 — Tested: 22 September 2026 — Session Log staff

Extended is the best platform for day trading crypto on this register, at 19.3 of 25: 0.025% to cross, the cheapest tier admitted here, and a median BTC depth of $7.8 million within ten basis points. Leverage cuts both ways, and one bad fill can cost a day of gains.

## Weights and scoring range

cost 30 · liquidity 30 · custody 15 · security 15 · coverage 5 · access 5. Scored out of 25 on one formula for the whole site, fixed 22 September 2026: https://coinlen.com/how-we-rate

## Standings at the close

Ordered by the total out of 25. The names in it come from one rule, not from the scores: a venue joins the register when its entry tier takes five basis points or less to cross, at a price not bought with added delay, because a session of twenty round trips is forty crossings and a dearer schedule spends the day before the trade is right about anything. Aevo takes 0.080% and is out on price. Lighter and Paradex charge nothing and are out too, because each buys that zero with a delay on the order paying it, and a free trade that arrives late is not free to a trader working the same session.

## The log, entry by entry

### 1. [Extended](https://extended.exchange/) — the cheapest paid schedule, with a bounty behind it

19.3 of 25.

Extended charges 0% maker / 0.025% taker flat, with no volume tier to climb
([Extended fee documentation](https://docs.extended.exchange/extended-resources/trading/trading-fees-and-rebates), checked 18 September 2026). Audited custody contracts, a
public bug bounty and a clean twenty-four-month record give it full security marks, matched here
only by Aster. Its BTC book held a median $7.8 million within ten basis points, but
most of its 325 active markets are quote-driven.

- Works: No maker fee at any volume, and no tier to reach; Public bug bounty paying up to $500,000.
- Falls short: 278 of its markets are quote-driven, with no public book; No documented way to withdraw without the operator.
- Not for: traders who want the book on screen to be the book they trade.

### 2. [Aster](https://www.asterdex.com) — the longest market list on the desk

18.6 of 25.

Aster lists 578 perpetual markets, more than any venue here, at
0% maker / 0.040% taker on its entry tier. Its BTC book was also the tightest here: a median
0.01 bps between the top bid and the top ask, with $14.9 million resting
within ten basis points. Matching and settlement run on Aster Chain, its own layer 1.

- Works: Tightest median spread of the seven venues here; Six asset classes, at a 0% maker fee.
- Falls short: Chain contracts are not open-sourced and the validator set is closed in phase one; No forced withdrawal documented; the bridge is validator-signed.
- Not for: traders who want an open validator set behind settlement.

### 3. [edgeX](https://pro.edgex.exchange) — the deepest book of the seven

18.4 of 25.

edgeX held a median $29.3 million within ten basis points of the mid, the deepest book on
this page, and a $1 million market order would have paid 0.23 bps against it.
Withdrawals can bypass the operator through direct blockchain interaction
([edgeX documentation](https://pro.edgex.exchange/en-US/home), checked 18 September 2026). What it costs is the maker side:
0.040% maker / 0.045% taker.

- Works: Deepest book of the seven, and the smallest impact on size; Documented exit past the operator, behind six independent audits.
- Falls short: 0.040% maker fee, the dearest of the seven; Stock perpetuals reject market orders out of hours.
- Not for: makers working the entry tier.

### 4. [Hyperliquid](https://hyperliquid.xyz) — size without moving the price

16.6 of 25.

Hyperliquid runs its order book on the chain itself. Its open interest stood at
$8.7 billion against $13.4 billion of 24-hour volume in CoinMarketCap's
derivatives ranking on 22 September 2026;
our own reading found a median $7.0 million within ten basis points and
0.71 bps on a $1 million order, the second lowest here.

- Works: Second lowest impact of the seven on a $1 million order; Public bug bounty paying up to $1 million.
- Falls short: Its own vault absorbed about $4 million in March 2025 and about $4.9 million in November 2025; Third-party markets are shown in the app but not reviewed by its operator.
- Not for: traders who want every listing vetted by one operator.

### 5. [ApeX Omni](https://omni.apex.exchange/) — a documented exit to layer 1

16.4 of 25.

ApeX Omni settles matched trades on a zero-knowledge rollup whose contracts hold the deposits,
and a trader can force a withdrawal to layer 1 without the operator. A wallet or an email opens
it, with no forms in the documentation. The book is where it gives ground:
a median $1.7 million within ten basis points, sixth of seven, at
0.020% maker / 0.050% taker.

- Works: Forced withdrawal to layer 1 without the operator; A wallet or an email is enough, with no forms in the documentation.
- Falls short: 0.050% taker, the dearest here alongside dYdX; Audits cover the rollup infrastructure, not the trading system.
- Not for: cost-sensitive takers running high trade counts.

### 6. EVEDEX — a deep book with every market open at once

16.3 of 25.

EVEDEX matches orders off-chain and writes positions to Arbitrum in accumulated batches rather
than trade by trade, which is where it gives up points on custody
(EVEDEX trading terms and documentation, 18 September 2026). The book reads better: a median $18.5 million within
ten basis points, second deepest here, and 2.06 bps on a $100,000 order. The
entry tier is 0.015% maker / 0.045% taker, margin is cross only in USDT, and all 52
markets are quoted around the clock.

- Works: Second deepest book of the seven at the mid; All 52 markets quoted around the clock, shares included.
- Falls short: Positions written to Arbitrum in batches, not trade by trade; No bug bounty programme listed on CertiK Skynet; 52 markets against hundreds elsewhere, and no spot.
- Not for: UK retail clients, and traders wanting an exit past the operator.

### 7. [dYdX](https://www.dydx.xyz) — an order book held by validators

14.3 of 25.

dYdX keeps the order book in each validator's memory and commits the matches to its own chain, a
design no other venue here uses. The price of that is the book: a median $866,108
within ten basis points, the thinnest here, and 10.90 bps on a $1 million order —
around 47 times what the deepest book would have charged.

- Works: Bug bounty paying up to $1 million; No identity documents between a wallet and a first order.
- Falls short: Thinnest measured book of the seven; The chain halted for hours in the October 2025 crash, and stale prices followed.
- Not for: traders sizing positions above a hundred thousand dollars.

## What the books looked like while we watched

BTC perpetual books polled six times an hour until the log closed on 22 September 2026; medians of every successful snapshot.

| Venue | $10,000 round trip | Spread | Depth, 10 bps | Impact, $100,000 | Snapshots |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Extended | $5.00 | 0.12 bps | $7.8 million | 0.06 bps | 53 |
| Aster | $8.00 | 0.01 bps | $14.9 million | 0.37 bps | 128 |
| edgeX | $9.00 | 0.04 bps | $29.3 million | 0.02 bps | 127 |
| Hyperliquid | $9.00 | 0.12 bps | $7.0 million | 0.06 bps | 128 |
| ApeX Omni | $10.00 | 0.83 bps | $1.7 million | 0.46 bps | 127 |
| EVEDEX | $9.00 | 4.12 bps | $18.5 million | 2.06 bps | 126 |
| dYdX | $10.00 | 1.69 bps | $866,108 | 6.93 bps | 128 |

## What the total cannot see

Custody and security are read from published documents and audit records, never from watching a
venue fail. Two of the seven lose the three points the security criterion holds for a clean
twenty-four months: Hyperliquid, whose own vault carried the bad debt of two liquidation cascades,
and dYdX, whose chain stopped producing blocks for hours in the October 2025 crash. Aster made good
the positions closed when one of its contracts mispriced in September 2025 and keeps the points,
because the money came back. The score reads the outcome, not the handling.

## How the session was run

Two ledgers. One copied on 18 September 2026 from each venue's own documentation and terms:
fees, market counts, leverage ladders, sign-in rules, who they refuse, audits. One the
desk's own — every Bitcoin perpetual book here polled six times an hour until the log closed on 22 September 2026, printed as a
median. Six criteria, weighted on 22 September 2026, set the order wherever a table on this site is
sorted by the total ([how we rate](/how-we-rate)). No account, no order, nothing crossed. Placement
here is paid for.

The cost column prices day one — before volume tiers, rebates or cashback, which all turn on a
trader's own record. Depth was read on BTC alone, across one session: a venue thick in Bitcoin can
be thin elsewhere, and a quiet hour is not a crash. Custody and the security record are read, not
tested. Oracle-priced venues carry their facts on the
[venue list](/crypto-day-trading-platform-list) and no total.

## FAQ

### What is the best platform for day trading crypto?

On our 24 September 2026 scoring, Extended at 19.3 of 25: the cheapest crossing the register admits, 0.025%, on a book holding a median $7.8 million within ten basis points. edgeX read far deeper, at $29.3 million. Which one fits depends on whether fees or fills limit the session.

### Which crypto exchange has the lowest fees for day trading?

Of the seven on the register, Extended at 0% maker / 0.025% taker flat, with no volume tier over it. Aster is next at 0.040% to take and nothing to post: $160.00 over twenty round trips on $10,000 against $100.00. Two venues the desk measures publish no taker rate and sit off the register.

### How much does slippage cost a day trader?

More than the fee once size grows. A $1 million market order would have paid 0.23 bps against the deepest book here and 10.90 bps against the thinnest, a difference of $1,067. At $100,000 the gap narrows to 6.93 bps against 0.02 bps.

### Can you day trade crypto without KYC?

A wallet signature is enough to place an order on all seven venues here, and none asks for identity documents in the onboarding pages read on 18 September 2026. That is not open access: each one excludes sanctioned persons, and most exclude a further list of countries set out in their own terms of use.

### What leverage can you use day trading Bitcoin?

Published BTC caps here run from 40x to 200x, and each is bounded by a notional. Two venues print the widest multiple; on Aster it holds only to 400 USDT of position, while Hyperliquid's 40x holds to $150 million. The headline multiple is the least useful number in a ladder.

### Which venue has the deepest order book for Bitcoin?

edgeX, at a median $29.3 million within ten basis points of the mid across 127 readings that ended on 22 September 2026. EVEDEX was second at $18.5 million and Aster third at $14.9 million. Depth on BTC says nothing at all about the smaller markets on any of them.

### Is day trading crypto worth it?

That is a question about the trader, not the venue, and this desk does not answer it. The arithmetic is plain: twenty round trips at 0.050% taker is $200.00 on $10,000 of position before a fill goes against you, and a leveraged perpetual can take the whole margin.

### What is a round trip in trading?

Opening a position and closing it again. A day trader pays the taker fee on both legs, so a round trip costs twice the published rate: on a $10,000 position at 0.045% that is $9.00, and twenty in a session is $180.00.

### Are these platforms available in every country?

No. Every venue here excludes sanctioned persons, and each publishes its own list of places it will not serve. The lists differ, they are not the same length, and they change without notice. For any one venue the only reliable answer is its own terms of use, read on the day you plan to deposit.

### What is the difference between a hybrid exchange and a perp DEX?

A hybrid matches orders off-chain on its own engine and settles them on a chain, which is what EVEDEX, edgeX and Extended each do. Hyperliquid puts the whole book on the chain itself, so every order and every cancel is a transaction of its own. Speed traded against verifiability, and the register here holds both kinds.
