# Who keeps this log

Updated: 24 September 2026 — Session Log staff

Session Log covers one job: opening a crypto perpetual position and closing it again inside the same
day. 10 order-book venues are read from their own documentation and terms,
measured against their own BTC perpetual books and scored out of 25 on six
criteria. Every page here is written by Session Log staff, and nothing on the site is
advice about what to trade or whether to trade at all.

## Where the figures on this page are used

- [How we rate](https://coinlen.com/how-we-rate) — the six criteria in words, their weights, and the arithmetic that turns them into a total
- [The standings](https://coinlen.com/best-platform-for-day-trading-crypto) — the whole desk in one table, with the fee and the fill set side by side
- [The venue list](https://coinlen.com/crypto-day-trading-platform-list) — every venue we read, including the ones the formula leaves unscored and why

## How a session is recorded

Three kinds of figure appear here, and each is made a different way.

What a venue charges, what it lists, how far its leverage ladder stretches and at what size,
what it asks at sign-in and what its audits found are read from that venue's own documentation,
terms and margin schedule, all of it on 18 September 2026. The date belongs to the figure
rather than to the page.

Resting liquidity is the one column we produce ourselves. A script on one machine reads the
public order-book endpoint of 28 venues on the BTC perpetual every ten minutes, and what gets
published is the median of the successful readings: dollars resting within ten basis points of
the mid price, the gap between the top bid and the top ask, and what an order of a stated size
would have paid against the book in front of it. That session closed on
22 September 2026: 128 readings behind the fullest
books, 52 behind the shortest run, and 127 behind a
typical one.

Open interest and 24-hour volume are neither read from a venue nor measured here. Both belong to
the venue and are reproduced from CoinMarketCap's derivatives ranking as it read on
22 September 2026.

Nothing is ordered by hand. The six criteria, their weights and the scale were fixed on
22 September 2026, before any venue here had been scored against them, and are set out in plain
words on [how we rate](/how-we-rate).

## Where the readings stop

Nothing on this desk was traded. No venue named here was signed up to, no order left this machine
and no deposit was ever made, and that decides what this log can say.

The books were read through public endpoints, so a figure is the book as it stood at that
reading, never a fill. Price impact is what an order of that size would have met in the resting
book, worked out from the book itself. Latency, rejected and partly filled orders, funding paid
on a position held through the day, and whatever a venue does in the hour it comes under stress
sit outside every figure here.

The window is narrow and it is a single market: depth on a BTC perpetual says nothing about the
thinner markets on the same venue. Custody, settlement and the security record come from
documentation, audit reports and the public record of past incidents — no contract was inspected
here, no test withdrawal made, no venue watched through a failure.

## Who pays for this log

Publication here is paid for. This site is paid placement: the pages on this domain were
commissioned and paid for, a venue named on them may have paid to be published here, and every
page should be read in that knowledge.

What the money does not reach is the order of a table. The criteria and their weights were
published before any venue was scored against them, every total is computed from the figures
printed beside it, and a page condition decides which venues appear, never what a criterion
weighs. Every venue described here carries at least two documented drawbacks, taken from its own
documentation or from the public record, and none is marked out with a badge, a highlighted row
or a colour of its own.

## The address before this log

This domain carried unrelated projects before this one: until the spring of 2025 a crypto news
publication with its own staff and bylines, and in 2017 and 2018 a single page promoting lending
programmes that no longer exist. Session Log has no affiliation with either of them, with anyone
who wrote for them or with any service they promoted. Nothing of theirs is reused — not the
name, not a byline, not an article, not a logo or any other mark — and no page they published is
restored here.

## How to correct an entry

Write to editorial@coinlen.com, a mailbox on this domain and the only address this
site publishes. If a figure is wrong, name the page and link the source that reads differently:
the entry is republished under a new session date. Nothing here is redated to look recent.
This site shares no analytics property, tag or advertising account with any other publication.
